2015 Spring High School Duathlon

Our Spring duathlon season will run from April 6th through June 19th, 2015. Duathlon training involves road cycling and running. Our duathletes will need to have a road specific bike and should have past experience riding. Participants will meet for formal practices Monday through Friday and receive online training workouts and coaching. Our duathlon training is a great lead up to our Summer triathlon training group.

What to bring:
Bring a Garmin or Timex GPS tracking device to all practices if you have one. We recommend the Garmin 920XT with heart rate monitor and GSC-10 speed/cadence sensor for duathletes and triathletes. The Garmin Forerunner 220 with heart rate monitor can be substituted for the Garmin 920XT for a lower cost but will record less training information than the 920XT. Class Cycles in Southbury carries both Garmin tracking devices. On bike days bring all cycling equipment including a helmet. Wear cycling clothing that you are also comfortable running in. Most of our bike rides will either start or finish with a run.
