What to bring:
Bring a Garmin or Timex GPS tracking device to all practices if you have one. We recommend the Garmin 920XT with heart rate monitor and GSC-10 speed/cadence sensor for duathletes and triathletes. The Garmin Forerunner 220 with heart rate monitor can be substituted for the Garmin 920XT for a lower cost but will record less training information than the 920XT. Class Cycles in Southbury carries both Garmin tracking devices and offers a 10% discount to athletes training with Nutmeg Striders. On bike days bring all cycling equipment including a helmet. Wear cycling clothing that you are also comfortable running in. Most of our bike rides will either start or finish with a run. On swim days bring tri-suit, wetsuit, bright swim cap, and goggles.
